this music video has characteristics that are very common to the genre of boyband ballads. the similar clothing of all the guys in the video is also a common element to music videos of this genre, along with dancing in time with each other. there is also a clear leader or main vocalsist which corresponds with the genre.
there is a clear relationship between lyrics and visuals. for example while the lyrics are "u. plus sign. me. equals sign" the boys in the band are creating those signs with their arms.
music and visuals are also closely linked with dance moves in time and shots changing in time with the beats and sound effects of the song.
the idea of having a record label demamding certain things from a video is also present as there are shots of each member of the band doing there own lyrica bit of the song and also each doing parts of the "calculus"signs.
the part of the video with the girl in the car is also very appropriate for a video like this as it is sung and performed by men and is about a guy singing about a girl.
the end of the video is similar the part of bohemian rhapsody with the four guys faces close up. the cars acould also be a reference to any car based film like the fast and the furious etc.
